Now that we have access to the internet again, I have done a little research on my visitor. I have since learned that Black Mambas are not black - they are named Black Mambas because the inside of their mouths is black. So, I'm not sure exactly what kind of black snake was in my room, but I am convinced that it was not a Black Mamba, which has put me very much at ease! This is only the second time that a snake was seen inside at the village, so to all my family and friends who may be crossing Kenya off their "places to visit" list, you should still come! If you were hoping to see a snake when you visit, you'll probably have to wait another 2-3 years.
Praise God for that news!
